When you look stuff up on Wikipedia, that’s what you get: interpretation and summary.Analysis: The word comes from an old Greek word, analyein, which means “to break up something” or to loosen some whole so that it becomes parts. Definition: it is the act of examining something in detail by breaking it down into component parts, for one main purpose: to find out more about it and figure out how it works. It answers the question how does it work?Below each of the 16 poetic texts you will take Analytical Notes. Write down any words or phrases in the text that strike you as significant; you should also describe the organisation and structure of the poem here, or the way the lines appear, the shifts in time and point of view, etc; you can even write down any questions you have.
